Kind of a scary thought but very true. I remain amazed at our ability to turn on one another over misunderstandings.
See Letter V of Henri Nouwen's "Letters to Marc about Jesus." Wow.
Thanks for the Nouwen recommendation. Though I have read much of his work, I have never read this one. I ordered it today. Looking forward to your specific reference.
Nouwen's book arrived and I went straight for Letter V. "Wow" is right! Nouwen's treatment of Jesus' words, "Love your enemies," is profound. My favorite sentence in the chapter: "Love for one's enemy is the touchstone of being a Christian." Thanks for the recommendation.
